A 38 year old male was shot multiple times whilst backstage of a Wiz Khalifa performance in California last Friday night. The man was taken to hospital later on, yet unfortunately passed away from his wounds the following day. Since the shooting, authorities have arrested 6 different people who were present on that night with weapons charges – one of these people being Def Jam rapper Young Jeezy.

The performance was a part of the ‘Under the Influence of Music’ tour headlined by Khalifa, who quickly expressed his sympathy on twitter later that night after hearing of the situation that occurred earlier:‘This was a senseless tragedy. Violence is never the answer. My prayers go out to the victim’s family.’

Because of the shooting, the performance that was scheduled to go ahead the following night had been cancelled as well (Also from Wiz’s twitter):‘Due to a situation out of our control, tonight’s UTIOM show is cancelled.’

Young Jeezy is currently being held in custody, with a $1 million dollar bail. Authorities are continuing the investigation, and are yet to lay any charges against anyone as a connection to the homicide.

Khalifa last week released his new album, ‘Blacc Hollywood’, and also contributed the track ‘Shell Shocked’ on the ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ soundtrack.
