Melbourne's cutest 17 year old just won Unearthed High. Gab Strum, otherwise known as Japanese Wallpaper, makes haunting and hypnotic melodies that've scored him a pretty impressive crown.
On top of this ridiculously amazing new notch in his amazing belt, he's played Splendour, supported the likes of Fractures and SOHN, played at Splendour In The Fucking Grass (which we happened to see and VERY much enjoyed) and on top of that, his song with Wafia, Breathe In, features in the new Zach Braff film 'Wish I Was Here' alongside Coldplay, Cat Power and The Shins.
We think that's all pretty impressive for a kid who's still in year 11. Australia's about to fall in love with this absolute gem of a music-maker, and we can't wait to see where he goes.
