In support of her upcoming covers album OZ, Missy Higgins has announced that she will be touring Australia during September and October of this year. She is set to hit a wide variety of regional venues as well as our major cities. Joined by one of Triple J’s most played new Aussie artists, Dustin Tebutt will be joining Higgins on the tour (with the exception of all Darwin and WA dates). All of her shows promise to be a splendid mix of classic Missy tunes as well as some handpicked songs from the imminent album. The record features covers of many much loved Aussie classics from Something for Kate, Slim Dusty and Paul Kelly which are all fully experienced when accompanied with a collection ‘quirky’ prose in a book of related essays that can be purchased in a limited clothbound package edition on the 19th September.
Tickets go on sale at 10am on August the 14th, but if you’re an extra adamant Missy Higgins fan, people on her mailing list are given the special privilege of a presale at 9am on August the 12th. This fairly sudden announcement also comes with another piece of equally exciting news; she’s having a baby this coming January! Woah. Whaat?! Seeing as apparently newborns need time and attention or whatever, this tour will be the only shows she plays for at least the next 12 months so decide on your venue and snatch those tickets up quick smart!
