You might know him for his sultry rock'n'roll voice and greasy pompadour but it seems that Alex Turner is taking to the typewriter with his fellow troubadour and collaborator, Miles Kane.
"It's something we'd both love to do at some point but I don't know what that point is." Alex told NME back in 2013 about the possibility of further musical collaborations with Miles. "I certainly don't think it's tomorrow. Miles is doing his thing and that's going great. It's like he's become whole. Although he always was a superstar, wasn't he?"
It's been a long and difficult time for fans of Turner and Kane's band, The Last Shadow Puppets, who released their last album in 2008, a retro-adorbs piece of art which garnered them a huge cult following of incredibly, ridiculously, intense fans, but now it seems the pair have put an album on the backburner in favour of writing a Superhero movie. "It's something we always talk about y'know? But I think we're gonna write this film first anyway before we hit back into that," Miles told Digital Spy when discussing the possibility of a new Last Shadow Puppets album."It's gonna have a sort of X-Men kind of vibe and sort of set in the '60s, but I can't give anymore away than that" he also added "We're not planning to be [in the film] but we may have a little cameo." and though they may not have major acting roles they plan on being involved in the films' production.
It may come as a surprise that these 2 rock Gods are making a foré into the world of film but it only takes a few videos to see their cinematic flare, a great example is the video for Snap Out Of It, a strange and beautifully created video, the clip for My Mistakes Were Made For You, their sexy Last Shadow Puppets tune and of course, how could we forget the soundtrack for Richard Ayoade's Submarine which was stunningly penned by Turner.
