Sydney locals The Holidays put on a great show at The Metro on Friday the 13th this month! We were lucky enough to head along and enjoy the action.
Sydney youngsters Conics, a five-piece indie-dance act, kicked off the night. Their energetic set was a great start to the night. These guys clearly have a lot of potential, and if you haven’t already, you should check out their stuff! Thief was up next, providing his killer vocals and harmonious tunes. His tune Closer, that’s been getting a ton of plays on Triple J was a fan favourite. He also played a sweet rendition of Justin Timberlake’s Cry Me a River. The supports really showed their hand on the night and it was huge a shame The Metro hadn’t been a bit busier for them!
It filled up as The Holidays took the stage for a great set packed with fan favourites from earlier releases and some of the new songs from Real Feel. These guys are the real deal. While personally, I’ve never been a fan of band’s doing the cliché encore, I was glad when the band re-took the stage for two more! I could watch them play all night. We were also lucky enough to score a live rendition of their Like A Version.
The Holidays certainly put on a fun show, their first at The Metro. A great achievement and right of passage for any Sydney Band! Simon thanked us all for making it possible, but we should have been thanking The Holidays for a great night at The Metro.
