The Holidays sophomore album Real Feel has been a long time coming. The Sydney three pieces well received debut LP Post Paradise was released way back in September 2010 and saw the band play some huge festivals and tours both here in Australia and overseas.

Fast track three and half years and here we are - if you ask me, Real Feel was worth the wait! The Holidays have delivered another top-notch album.

Real Feel is sophisticated, catchy and full of that dreamy indie pop sound that fans fell in love with from earlier releases. There’s just something about the way The Holidays play, Simon Jones on guitar with his distinctive voice, Andrew Kerridge on the drums and Alex Kortt on the bass just seem to fit together. It’s hard to explain what it is but it works so well. Real Feel will have you singing along right away! If you ask me this album shows why The Holidays are of the Australian bands we should all watch closely!

Unfortunately the tour in March won’t be all ages but keep your eyes pealed because The Holidays are bound to pop up again and again over the next twelve months. If you ask me Real Feel is one of the best Aussie releases so far this year so go grab yourself a copy and fall in love.

4.5/5
