James Edward Bagshaw and Thomas Edison Warmsley sound like 2 fictional characters from some Downton Abbey-ish show, but funnily enough, they are real people, and actually happen to be the founding members of English rock-pysch band, Temples.

Temples’ much awaited debut, Sun Structures, is being released just around the corner on the 10th of February and I cannot stress to you enough that you NEED TO HEAR IT. So, here are 3 reasons why you need to listen to Temples debut album.

3. No one is going to shut up about them. Trust me. These guys are the newest whisper buzzing around the indie mill, and they deserve every goddamn word of praise.

2. I’d heard murmurs of Temples and a few audible commendations from some people but I never really took the time to have a listen until Sam Hales of the Jungle Giants said it was the album he’s most looking forward to whilst being interviewed by our good ol’ friends Project U. THERE’S A REASON WHY HE WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO IT: THEY’RE FREAKING AWESOME. Oh and Noel Gallagher (one of the notoriously cray cray Oasis brothers) quite likes them as well: “There's great records coming out this year you're not going to hear on the radio,” Noel told GQ, “Temples. Jagwar Ma. Great stuff, but it's on a lower level. It's not on the battleground. You have to be in that world to hear it.

1. I don’t want to break down each and every song or use fancy words to convince you that it’s great but I will say this: It’s like summer for your ears. When the first few notes on the guitar kick off the album you’ll be carried away with the tune, and you’ll be surprised to find how the sunny melodies and warm vibes can make you feel like a million bucks.

Sun Structures will be released on the 10th of February through Heavenly Recordings.

Tracks to look out for: Keep In The Dark, Test Of Time, Mesmerise.

4.5/5
